While Texas is known for a lot of things, agates might not be on the top of that list. But some of the most beautiful and agates in the world can be found in the far west part of the state.
The reason you might not have heard about Texas agates is because, unlike many of the Western states, Texas lands are 95% privately owned, which makes accessing the stones difficult.
Thankfully, the creator of YouTube channel Fingerprints in the Ground knows exactly where to go, Kokernot o6 Ranch near Alpine, TX. On his latest trip he came home with 245 pounds of Alpine Agates and cuts some of the larger ones for us all to see…and they’re incredible!
